Our History

Benter Teenage Mothers’ Community-Based Organization (CBO) was founded in early 2024 in response to the rising number of teenage mothers in Busia County. The organization was inspired by a young Catholic priest who, born to a teenage mother and raised in poverty, felt compelled to give back to his community. With the support of a Catholic nun, his family, and other like-minded individuals, the CBO was established to provide teenage mothers with the care, support, and opportunities needed to rebuild their lives. In its first six months, the CBO assisted over 150 teenage mothers, offering them counseling, education, vocational training, and essential supplies. Despite limited resources, the organization continues to create a safe space for these young mothers to heal and grow.
